The fields are not uniform surfaces and, because of that, we need to identify the different zones within them, to provide the crops with the exact amount of nitrogen they need. Nitrogen need is one of the hardest variables to predict and, at the same time, one with the highest impact in the economy of the farmer.
The variable-rate fertilization module for wheat is based in a model developed by INTA that has been incorporated into Auravant. It allows for nitrogen need diagnose and generation of a variable-rate prescription that maximizes the efficiency of the nutrient in each hectare, leading input savings and less environmental impact.
The variable-rate fertilization module for corn allows to maximize efficiency in the use of nitrogen in an easy way, leading to input savings and a lower environmental impact due to fertilization. This model uses nitrogen rich strips as benchmark and satellite imagery to determine the optimal rate of nitrogen to achieve the desired yield in each part of the field.
